Services and Costs (per session)
Relationship Counselling for individuals and couples £50.
Young Peoples Counselling £50.
Family Counselling for one or more members of a family group i.e. mum, step dad, carer, granddad, son etc £55.
Psychosexual Therapy (sex therapy) £55.
Family Mediation – MIAM (mediation information & assessment meeting) – £125.00, Joint meeting – £360.
Please be advised we operate a prepayment system. If you wish to book an appointment you will need to make payment at the time of booking before we can confirm the appointment.
We are able to offer reduced cost appointments to people who are unable to pay the full cost (e.g., in receipt of benefits, low income etc), if you think you might qualify for bursary assistance please mention this when speaking to a member of our admin team. N.B you will be required to provide further information to support a bursary application.
Before counselling can begin the counsellor who you see for your first appointment will be gathering information and assessing which Relate service might be most helpful to you or if an external resource would be more useful.
Appointment times are 50 minutes and you will be asked to complete and return some paperwork prior to your first appointment.
The assessment process for couple counselling includes time with your partner and also individually.
If you choose to attend the first appointment alone but then decide you would like couple counselling with your partner, then your partner would also need to book an assessment appointment.
At the end of the first appointment the counsellor will either offer you another appointment (for couples the next two appointments will be individual appointments), or they will advise that you will go on to our waiting list until we are able to offer you further appointments. Your ongoing appointments will be weekly and will normally be on the same day and time.
Cancellation:- We require a minimum of 2 working days’ notice prior to your appointment should you wish to cancel or re-schedule; if sufficient notice is given your payment will either be transferred to another appointment or reimbursed, minus a £3 admin fee **Please refer to the admin office opening times as you will need to take this into account should you wish to cancel an appointment. Please note we are unable to take calls or respond to emails of a weekend or on a Bank Holiday, therefore, these are not classed as working days**
